Students from the Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (Conalep), San Juan del Río campus, are set to become actively involved in the production processes of various companies in the state and the Bajío region. This collaboration aligns with their technical career paths offered by the institution and has kicked off with an introduction to the productive model of Mazda, the automotive manufacturer.
The Introduction of a Senior JICA Volunteer: Agustín Casillas Gutiérrez, the Director-General of the institution, recently welcomed a senior volunteer from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The primary objective of this volunteer is to foster connections between students, not only at the San Juan del Río campus but also across other Conalep campuses. This initiative aims to enhance their educational experiences and prepare them for potential future careers in the industrial sector.
Casillas Gutiérrez explained, “Building upon the strong alliance we have with the Japanese people through JICA, we have continued our senior volunteer program. We recently received a new volunteer last month, an engineer with a doctorate specializing in business recovery with areas of opportunity.”
The academic leader emphasized that the arrival of this volunteer had been planned for several months, and they anticipate positive outcomes for the San Juan del Río campus students. The goal is for these students to gain valuable knowledge through hands-on experience in various companies.
Enhancing Educational Opportunities: “This program will involve collaboration with companies to determine how, with the volunteer’s guidance, we can assist them. For instance, the first connection he secured for us is with the Mazda plant. Our students will have the opportunity to visit the neighboring state’s plant and witness the entire production process firsthand, including the assembly of these high-quality vehicles,” Casillas Gutiérrez added.
He further stated that the senior volunteer would be based at the Director-General’s office but would visit all five Conalep campuses in the state to facilitate greater interaction between students and companies. This initiative will also involve the participation of teachers to create a comprehensive learning experience for the students.
